DAY 29 HEADING TO CALISTOGA, CALIFORNIA NAPA VALLEY

DAY 29
We slept till 9:00 this morning and had a quick breakfast...pop tarts and cereal. Then we headed over to the beach to check it out. I took Kali down with the big kids to see the starfish and Thad watched Paisley. There were starfish and hermit crabs everywhere.

Kali said this is Patrick of off spongebob.

We have no idea what this is but it looks cool.

Kali found a crab that would not bite her...it was dead.

Thad loved these rolling hills.

We found a nice little place to stay called Calistoga, California. We lucked up and they were having a festival for there 125 year celebration. The campsite that we stayed in was at the Fairgrounds and it had full hook ups. They also had a golf course next door. They had music there and Thad went to check it out but it was a private party for a baptism. I have never been to that kind of baptism before. The band played for hours. They had food, music, wine, and lots of inflatables for the kids. The wine was my favorite....JUST KIDDING no wine for me. I had more fun people watching than anything. We ate some fresh tamales, and some black bean hummus and pita bread. Paisley spit it out, after Kali tried it she wouldn't even stand beside it because she said that it smelled bad. Of course, Mitchell didn't like it either but everyone tried it. Thad said that we might move here after seeing this girl ...he thinks it must be easy to get a job as a barber here. No offense to this girl and I blurred her face but come on what kind of haircut is this?

I asked Kali what was her favorite part and she said the playground. Thad says that we should have taken them to Nashville and they could have played on the playground and swam and they would be just as happy..After the festival was over, we headed back to the campsite. I held Paisley and Kali rode in the backpack with Thad on the bike. We are going down the street and they passed me and she yells "mama look at that big girl riding that bike it has a basket to put stuff in." By then they are long gone and here comes a bigger lady on a bike past me and she laughs and says BIG GIRL...I just looked at her and said SORRY.. She said that is better that being called old lady. I was so embarrassed. When we got back to the campsite there were alot of people at the site next to us. I told the kids that it looked like they might be a lively group and that Thad would soon be making friends....Guess what I was right. Kali was going in and out of the camper to hang out with Thad. One of the guys was born in TN. He had a boy that rode bikes with Mitchell and Lawson. Mitchell stayed out for a long time with him and Lawson came in to catch up on his journal. We watched Wild Hogs again and then went to bed. It was after 11:00 then and Thad and Mitchell were still outside. We headed to bed.
