On The Road Again

DAY 2

          Well we are headed out again. We plan to make it to the Badlands today but it will be another long day of driving. If we get tired we will find somewhere along the way. We stopped at a truckstop in Hamilton, Missouri and I was just telling the kids they should look at the signs because sometimes they can be funny and I looked up and said like that one.....( It says Free Shower with 100 gal fuel min purchase) 

         Well looks like we are not going to make the Badlands today. Who would have thought that the flooding that took place would effect our trip. There is still water standing in places so the hwy we were going to take was closed. We found a place called Mitchell, South Dakota that we decided that we would go to tonight instead. We get to see the corn palace. Kali and Paisley took a long nap which allowed me to sit up front and help navigate. One thing is for sure...there is a lot of corn here.

We saw how trully blessed that we were today when a camper was on the side of the road on fire and right before we passed it exploded out the side on to the road. God was watching over us... If we had been going a little bit faster then it would have hit the RV.  It was very scary but everyone was ok.

             We had another long day of riding and finally we have arrived at Mitchell, South Dakota. Mitchell says this place is awesome...his name is everywhere. He has taken picture of so many signs. I think that Kali was more amazed because she kept saying when are we going to get to Mitchell's world. We stopped off by Corn Palace; It is nothing like I thought but I am glad that we went. They have all kinds of pictures and designs on the walls and the building that are made out of corn.

        We found a campsite called Famil-E-Fun campground. The kids love it...We headed to the pool as soon as we got here and it was freezing. The kids didn't care at all...even Paisley. When she had enough I brought her and Kali back to change. Then Thad let the kids play putt putt while I cooked burgers. They all bragged on how good they were; They were really hungry. Paisley ate half a burger before I could get started. Lets just say that she definitely looked like Mitchell when she ate. The kids said that they had a really great day and Thad said he had a good Father's Day. I guess that tells you how much fun that we are having...that is alot of people to not have any complaints. Badlands tomorrow.. It is only 3 hours from here so that is not so bad. Have a good night
